This month on Trainer Tip Tuesday we will be discussing considerations when you are back extensions from the ground on another flat surface, such as a massage table. Back extensions can be one of the most effective ways to strengthen your low back muscles and improve your spinal mobility, but there are some key things you need to watch out for to make sure you are doing them correctly.
One way to make this exercise feel particularly uncomfortable is to try to lift too high for what your body can do. While there can be benefits to having your spine arch and curl as you go through this exercise, trying to extend or arch too much can create issues.
So the question is, “How high should you try to lift when doing back extensions?”
There are some things you are going to want to keep in mind when doing this exercise in order to make sure you are able to perform the exercise more comfortably.
Check out all of the details in this week’s episode of Trainer Tip Tuesday, and be sure to tune back in next week as we discuss more considerations when doing back extensions.
