This month on Trainer Tip Tuesday we will be discussing considerations when you are using the knee flexion (a.k.a. leg curl) machine. The knee flexion machine can be one of the most effective tools in the gym for building the size and strength of your hamstrings, but there are many things to keep in mind before hopping on.
When using the knee flexion machine, you have to consider the different components of the machine, including where you are positioning the thigh pad. Each aspect of the machine should be set so it is customized for your body, as not doing so could leave you vulnerable to feeling achy and sore after using it.
When considering where to position the thigh pad, you want to make sure the pad is comfortably set on top of your thighs without smashing your knees down. This is essential to effectively using the machine without issues.
If the pad is not snug enough, you will be able to challenge your hamstrings as effectively as you could. If the pad is too snug, however, the exercise may be extremely uncomfortable.
Check out all of the details in this week’s episode of Trainer Tip Tuesday, and be sure to tune back in next week as we discuss considerations for the knee flexion machine.
