This month on Trainer Tip Tuesday we will be discussing considerations when you are back extensions from the ground on another flat surface, such as a massage table. Back extensions can be one of the most effective ways to strengthen your low back muscles and improve your spinal mobility, but there are some key things you need to watch out for to make sure you are doing them correctly.
One way aspect of this exercise that rarely gets considered is how your arms are positioned while doing the back extensions. Even though the exercise is designed to target and strengthen your back muscles, your arms actually have a big influence on how challenging the exercise is.
So the question is, “Where should your arms be positioned while doing back extensions in order to make the exercise an appropriate challenge for your body?”
There are some things you are going to want to keep in mind when doing this exercise in order to make sure you are able to perform the exercise more comfortably.
Check out all of the details in this week’s episode of Trainer Tip Tuesday, and be sure to tune back in next week as we discuss more considerations when doing back extensions.
