Welcome back to this week’s edition of 2-Minute Tuesdays. We know that the Holiday Season is in full swing, and this time of year, extra time to get your workouts in is at a minimum. So, today we are giving you three things that you can do to help ensure you get your workouts in without adding extra time to your day.
We all know that the Holidays are a great time to spend with family and friends, but we often neglect to acknowledge the importance of being healthy during this time. Your health will allow you to enjoy your time with those you love, and in order to maintain your health, maintaining a consistent exercise schedule is a must. Here are some things you can do to make sure that happens.
1) Set Your Phone Timer To Remind You To Move
Our first tip to help keep you moving during the holidays is to set your phone timer to remind you to get up and move throughout your day. This is one of the easiest things you can do to make sure you stay active. Set your phone timer for no more than 60 minutes, and when it goes off, stand up and move around for three to five minutes. Doing this consistently throughout your day can make a tremendous impact on your ability to stay healthy and enjoy the holidays.
Action Step: The timer function on your phone is one of the most underutilized tools to keep you moving throughout the day. Set it for 30-60 minutes, and when it goes off, stand up and walk around for three to five minutes.

2) Schedule Your Exercise
Our second tip to keep you moving during the holidays is to schedule your workouts. Between the work parties, social gatherings, and extensive travel that often happen this time of year, the only extra things that get done are often the ones that get scheduled. Make sure your workouts are on your “Completed” list every week by writing them into your schedule.
Action Step: Scheduling your workouts can seem like it would not make a difference, but it is one of the biggest difference-makers we see. If it isn’t on your schedule, other activities WILL fill that time, so write down exactly when you are going to exercise throughout your week and do not double-book that time.

3) Hire A Personal Trainer
Our third tip to keep you moving during the holidays is to hire and schedule with a personal trainer. Yes, a personal trainer costs money, but there are few investments you could make that will be more beneficial at helping you exercise on a regular basis. If you find that exercising consistently is a challenge for you, hiring a personal trainer may be the thing that keeps you working out, even during the busiest times of the year.
