Tip number two – don’t get caught up in the idea of “no pain, no gain”. You are still at an age where you body can tolerate a lot of physical stress, so you need to be careful that you are not doing more harm than good with your workouts. Workout in a manner where you are not sore, your workouts feel good, and you are not feeling achy or beat up after.
Action Step: Use the rule of 50% – if you feel sore after a workout, cut what you did in by 50% the next time you do that workout. Continue to cut your volume in half until you can workout and not be sore. After that, gradually increase the volume at a rate that is no faster that 10% every two weeks.
