Welcome back to this week’s edition of 2-Minute Tuesdays where we are talking about one exercise topic for two minutes and giving you three reasons why you should follow our advice. Now this week, we are talking to those of you who are feeling awesome. You feel ready to go. You feel ready to workout and hit it hard. What things do you need to keep in mind to make sure you can maximize your workout?
1) Challenge Yourself A Little More Today
Tip number one – the days when you are feeling awesome are the days when your body is inviting you to challenge yourself a little bit harder. This does not mean that you should try to go all out on everything and harass your body. But, if you have been taking notes on where your workouts were before, feel free to try one weight set up or a few more reps during each of your exercises. Today is the day your body is saying, “I am ready to work.”
Action Step: If you are feeling awesome and ready to workout, fantastic! Consider increasing the challenge or volume of exercise by 10% or so in order to take advantage of feeling great while still making sure not to overdo it.

2) Keep Listening To Your Body
Tip number two – make sure to continue to listen to your body while you are working out. Just because you are feeling awesome at the beginning of your workout does not mean that feeling is going to last for the entire workout. So, when you start feeling less than awesome, it is time to ease up, back off, and call it a day.
Action Step: During your workout, keep checking in with your body. If you ever start to feel less that awesome, consider stopping the workout at that point.

3) Re-evaluate Your Workouts If Feeling Awesome Is Rare
Tip number three – remember that exercise is supposed to make you feel awesome. You should not be feeling beat up, achy, or sore after your workouts. So, if this is a rare occurrence for you, then you have to start rethinking your exercise and your recovery plan so you can have more days where you are feeling awesome.
Action Step: How many days this week did you workout when you felt awesome? If the answer is something other than, “All of them!” then you need to re-evaluate how you are working out and what you are doing to help your body recover.
