Welcome back to this week’s edition of 2-Minute Tuesdays where we are talking about one exercise topic for two minutes and giving you three reasons why you should follow our advice. Now this week, we are talking to those of you who are not interested in working out outside whatsoever. You are going to stick to the indoors for your workouts this winter season. How can you make sure to still get a good workout in while staying inside?
1) Get A Gym Membership
Tip number one – get a gym membership. You may be one of the many people who only like to workout outside, but here’s the deal, sometimes, when it is -3 degrees outside, it is still important that you are exercising and getting the health benefits from exercise. Go get a gym membership and make sure are showing up for yourself.
Action Step: One of the top things to keep in mind when determining where to purchase a gym membership is location. The gym has to be conveniently located for you. If it isn’t, it will be even more difficult to stay consistent with your workouts. So, find a gym that is between your house and your office or is along the path of errands you typically run. That way, it is just one extra stop along a route you normally take.

3) Take Advantage Of The Inside Opportunities
Tip number three – think of working out inside as an opportunity to keep your total exercise life in balance. Meaning, when you workout outside, there are relatively limited options. You can walk, you can run, you can bike, maybe ride a scooter… but, think about all of the things you cannot do outside that you are able to do inside. Make sure to give those inside-only activities a try while you are forced to workout indoors.
Action Step: After you join a gym, take a look at the list of classes and activities that are included in your membership. There are many unique opportunities that gyms offer when you are working out inside, so be sure to explore as many of the options as you can to find something you enjoy doing.
