Welcome back to this week’s edition of 2-Minute Tuesdays where we are talking about one exercise topic for two minutes and giving you three reasons why you should follow our advice. Now this week, we are talking to those of you who are on the move. You are traveling for work or leisure. You are not at home and don’t have access to your regular gym or wherever you go to workout. How can you still make sure you get your workouts in despite traveling?
1) Find A Local Personal Trainer
Tip number one – a lot of times when people travel for work or business, they are traveling to the same place week after week or month after month. If this is you, we recommend that you find a personal trainer in that area so that when you are there month after month, you have someone to be accountable to and you have someone to check in with. This will also help to make sure that your workouts are efficient, to the point, and you stay on track even when you are not at home.
Action Step: Find a gym where you are heading and team up with one of the personal trainers there. Or, if you are looking for a recommendation, here is a list of some of the top trainers globally that we recommend.

2) Do Your Research Ahead Of Time
Tip number two – do your research ahead of time. Before you leave for your trip, make sure you know where the local gyms are, you know where the parks are, and you know where the areas are in the vicinity where you are going to be where you can go workout. Don’t wait until you get there and then try to piece it all together. Do some searches online and figure out where you need to be going to workout before you go on your trip.
Action Step: Here is an awesome post by one of our colleagues listing some of the top gyms to train at in North America. Additionally, if you are a member of a gym in your hometown, look to see if they have a location in the area you will be traveling to.

3) Pick Up Healthy Snacks
Our last and final tip – when you get to your destination, make sure you go to the grocery store and pick up some healthy snacks for yourself. Nobody has to make you eat the unhealthy snacks at the conference or the office where you are going, so set aside 30 minutes before heading to your hotel to pick up some healthy snacks.
Action Step: After you finish researching places to workout, do a quick search to find some places to grab healthy snacks near where you will be. If it is looking bleak, pack some snacks for yourself before you leave.
